Important documents from the bookstore’s history. Glad Day challenged both The Toronto Star & The Globe & Mail for refusing to accept our advertisements. Later we took Her Majesty’s Government to court for banning “The Joy of Gay Sex” by Edmund White & Dr. Charles Silverstein. These confrontations helped to change Canadian discriminatory policies and attitudes toward the gay & lesbian community.
