Malaysia Signs - Kuala Lumpur This billboard ad for a Vivo smartphone features Malaysian Signs - Kuala Lumpur Chinese actor and singer Lu Han, one of the most popular entertainment figures in China. He came to fame as a singer in the boy group known as Exo. Yes, I find him very attractive, but for western eyes to see a billboard image of a young man (he is now 28) looking rather effeminate and delicate came as a shock. Dec. 12, 2018

These images say a lot about the Asian sense of humor and sensibility. Except perhaps for similarities in the Xtian religious signs, I don’t think you would find anything like the others in North America or Europe. English is either a country’s second or third language and that gives them a certain tangent on words, meaning and pronunciation. They never miss a beat when it comes to using words in the most humorous ways. This tendency seems particularly pronounced in the Philippines.
