Introduction to the National Archeological Museum Athens
It is a tribute to the loving relationship between Herodes Atticus and Polydeukion that the museum placed their busts and Polydeukion’s votive relief next to each other. Taken during a visit in 1997 when roll film was still in common use. I recall having difficulty with the security guard who quite aggressively told me to put my camera away. I hope that has changed in the digital era. Many of my museum subjects would not be found either in catalogs or reproductions offered for sale by the museum.
